The result
Panels you can see your roofline in again.
Your solar panels sit outside every day collecting dust, pollen, mineral residue, bird droppings, and nesting debris. In dry inland areas like the Santa Clarita Valley that layer builds faster than most homeowners expect, and it is not something a rinse from the ground meaningfully addresses.
We clean with soft-bristle brushes fed by purified water through carbon-fiber poles. No harsh chemicals, no abrasive pads, no pressure washing. Purified water dries without leaving mineral residue behind, which is the whole reason the finish stays spot-free rather than drying to a haze.
Every visit starts with our four-step Solar Protection Assessment and ends with photographs and a Solar Care Grade, so you can see the condition your array was in and the condition we left it in.
- Four-step Solar Protection Assessment before we start
- Purified-water cleaning that leaves no mineral residue behind
- Soft-bristle process, no harsh chemicals and no pressure washing
- Visual contamination inspection across the whole array
- Bird-activity and entry-point check underneath the panels
- Solar Care Grade documenting the condition we found
- Before-and-after photographs for every job
- Complete work-area cleanup before we leave
- Seven-day spot-free guarantee

See how we clean
From the roof, exactly as it happens.
This is the whole method: a carbon-fiber pole feeding purified water to a soft-bristle brush, worked panel by panel. No harsh chemicals, no abrasive pads, and no pressure washer anywhere near the glass. Purified water dries without leaving minerals behind, which is why the finish stays spot-free.
- Purified water fed through the pole
- Soft bristles, nothing abrasive on the glass
- No chemicals and no pressure washing
- Dries spot-free, backed by a 7-day guarantee

Real Aurix job · beforeThe problem
A rinse does not reach most of what is up there.
On the glass
Dust, pollen, exhaust film, and mineral residue from sprinkler overspray. In an inland valley with eight dry months, it settles far faster than it washes off.
Under the panels
Droppings and nesting debris in the gap between the panel and the roof: warm, shaded, enclosed, and invisible from the ground until something goes wrong.
In the gutter below
Material that works loose from under the array ends up in the run directly beneath it, which is usually the first gutter on a property to block.
Out of reach
All of it sits on the one part of the roof nobody goes near, on equipment most homeowners are reluctant to climb up to and handle themselves.
Our process
The Aurix 4-Step Solar Protection Assessment.
Every visit starts the same way, and you get the findings in writing with photographs before anyone quotes you a number.
- 01
System assessment
Document the panel count, layout, roof access, and visible condition of the array.
- 02
Contamination inspection
Identify visible dust, pollen, mineral buildup, bird droppings, and other surface contamination.
- 03
Bird-activity inspection
Check for visible bird activity, accessible nesting debris, and potential entry points underneath the panels.
- 04
Solar Care Report
Provide photographs, a Solar Care Grade, recommended options, and a clear final project price.
Step four, in detail
Your Solar Care Grade.
A plain description of the condition we found, so the recommendation is not just our word against your eyes.
- AClean and protected
- No meaningful surface contamination visible, and no signs of bird activity under the array.
- BLight contamination
- A thin, even film of dust or pollen. Worth putting on a schedule before it builds.
- CCleaning recommended
- Visible soiling, mineral spotting, or scattered droppings across the array.
- DHeavy contamination or bird activity
- Heavy buildup, concentrated droppings, or clear signs that birds are using the space beneath the panels.
- FSevere buildup, nesting, or protection strongly recommended
- Severe contamination, accumulated nesting material, and open entry points around the perimeter.
Important: The Solar Protection Assessment is a visual inspection of what we can see and safely reach. It is not an electrical, roofing, wildlife, engineering, or professional system inspection, and it does not assess how your system is performing.
How often
How often solar panels actually need cleaning here.
It depends far more on where the array is than on how many panels it has. These are the cadences we put Santa Clarita properties on.
Twice a year
Most residential arrays
A spring and fall visit keeps up with ordinary dust, pollen, and sprinkler overspray across most of the Santa Clarita Valley. It is the cadence we put most homes on.
Quarterly
Open terrain and high dust
Antelope Valley, Castaic, and anywhere backing onto open ground collect noticeably more grit, and the Santa Ana winds reload it every fall. Four visits a year keeps ahead of it.
Its own conversation
Heavy tree cover or bird activity
Established nesting or a canopy dropping debris onto the array is not a scheduling problem; it is a condition to deal with. We will tell you what we would actually do after the assessment.
What each season does to panels in Santa Clarita.
Spring
Pollen and nesting season
Pollen settles into a yellow film just as the days get longer, and spring is when birds go looking for sheltered spots, including the gap under an array. A spring visit clears the film and checks those gaps early.
Summer
Heat that bakes it on
Months without rain mean nothing rinses the glass, and whatever lands on a hot panel dries hard. Purified water and a soft brush lift it without scrubbing at the coating.
Fall
Santa Ana winds and wildfire ash
The winds drive fine grit onto every roof in the valley, and when a fire burns in the hills, ash follows. Ash left on the glass bonds to it over time, so it is worth taking off soon after.
Winter
Rain is not a cleaning
A winter storm moves loose dust around more than it removes it, and what is left dries into a film. With shorter days, a clean array makes the most of the daylight there is.
Not sure which one your roof is? The assessment is free and it answers exactly that.
Is yours due?
Seven things you can check from the ground.
None of these need a ladder. If more than one or two sound like your array, it is worth having someone look at it before the next dry stretch bakes the layer on.
- A visible film, or streaking that rain no longer clears
- Bird droppings, feathers, or nesting material on or under the array
- A gray haze across the glass after a run of Santa Ana wind
- Chirping, rustling, or scratching from the roof
- Your monitoring app trending down with no change to your usage
- Sprinkler spray reaching the array and drying into spots
- More than a year since anyone last looked at it properly
Just as important
What we will never do to your array.
Most of the damage we get called out to look at came from someone trying to help.
No pressure washing
Not on the glass, not on the frames, not anywhere near the seals.
No harsh chemicals
Purified water alone. Nothing that can film the glass or run into the roof.
No abrasive pads
Soft bristles on a water-fed pole. Nothing that can scour an anti-reflective coating.
No drilling into panel frames
If bird-proofing comes up, the mesh is attached without drilling into the frames.
No guessing at numbers
We will not quote you a percentage of recovered output before we have seen your roof. We photograph the before and after instead.
No surprise pricing
The four-step assessment comes first and the price comes after, once we both know what the array actually needs.
Choose your level
Cleaned, protected, or maintained.
Every package starts with the same four-step assessment. What changes is how far we go once we know what is actually on and under your array.

With purified water and a soft brush, and nothing else. The reason purified water matters is that it carries no dissolved minerals, so it dries without leaving the spotting that ordinary tap water leaves behind. Where an array can be reached safely from the ground we work from the ground, which is better for your landscaping and safer for our crew. Where it cannot, our technicians are trained and insured for roof work.
It is what happens before anyone quotes you a price. We work through four steps on the roof, in the same order every time, covering the system itself, the contamination on it, the bird activity under it, and the written report at the end. It usually takes twenty to thirty minutes on a residential array, it costs nothing, and you are under no obligation afterward. The result is photographs, a Solar Care Grade, your options, and a final project price. It is a visual assessment, not an electrical, roofing, wildlife, or engineering inspection.
A simple A-to-F description of the condition your array is in when we arrive, so the recommendation is not just our word against your eyes. Grade A is clean and protected; B is light contamination; C means cleaning is recommended; D means heavy contamination or bird activity; F means severe buildup, nesting, or that protection is strongly recommended. It grades what we can see on and around the panels. It is not a performance, electrical, production, or system-health grade.
In Santa Clarita and the Antelope Valley, usually yes. Panels make power from the light that reaches the cells, and between April and November there is almost no rain here to wash off dust, pollen, wildfire ash, or bird droppings. Manufacturer advice that rain will handle it was not written for an inland valley that stays dry for eight months. We will not promise a percentage before seeing your roof, but the free assessment photographs what is on the glass, so you can decide with the evidence in front of you.
It depends far more on where you are than on how many panels you have. Most residential systems in the Santa Clarita Valley do well on a twice-yearly cadence. Properties in Palmdale, Lancaster, Castaic, or anywhere backing onto open terrain collect noticeably more dust and often warrant quarterly cleanings. Somewhere with heavy tree cover or established bird activity is its own conversation. We will tell you what we would actually do on your roof after the assessment.
Most standard residential systems in Santa Clarita run $150 to $250 for a cleaning. Where yours lands depends on the number of panels, how the array is reached, and how heavily it is soiled. The four-step Solar Protection Assessment is free, and you get a fixed price after it, before any work starts. Bird-proofing is quoted separately, and Solar Care Plan members get preferred pricing on every visit.
You can, but most homeowners here should not. Climbing onto a roof is the biggest risk, and the common shortcuts cause their own problems: tap water in Santa Clarita and the Antelope Valley is hard and dries to mineral spots, dish soap leaves a film that attracts dust, and pressure washers and abrasive pads can damage seals and the glass coating. We use purified water and soft bristles from the ground wherever possible, which is safer and dries spot-free.
Request a quote online or call us. We book a free Solar Protection Assessment, usually within the week in the Santa Clarita Valley and on our next Antelope Valley trip for Palmdale and Lancaster. On the day we inspect, photograph, and grade the array, give you a fixed price, and can usually clean the same visit.
Our process is deliberately gentle: soft bristles, purified water, no chemicals, no pressure washing, and nothing abrasive against the glass. We cannot speak for what any individual manufacturer or installer permits, and we do not claim their approval. If your panel manufacturer, installer, or monitoring contract has specific requirements for work on or around the array, tell us before we start and we will work to them.
Most residential cleanings take one to two hours, including the free assessment. Larger arrays, steep or hard-to-reach roofs, and heavy buildup take longer. We give you a realistic window when we book.
Not usually. As long as we have access to the yard, the roof approach, and a water spigot, you can be at work. We do like to walk you through the Solar Care Report in person when you are around, because the photographs make more sense with someone pointing at them. Either way, we send you the report.
Scheduled purified-water cleanings at the cadence you pick, a visual panel-condition inspection on every visit, a visual check of any bird barrier we installed, before-and-after photographs, priority scheduling, preferred member pricing, service reminders, and discounted window and gutter add-ons. Annual suits properties with lighter contamination, biannual is what most residential systems run, and quarterly is designed for high-dust locations, significant bird activity, or commercial properties.
No. There is no contract and no cancellation fee. Change your cadence, pause, or stop whenever you want.
If visible spotting or residue caused by our cleaning appears within seven days, call us and we come back and re-clean the affected panels at no charge. No forms, no argument. Our full written guarantee terms, including what is and is not covered, are on the guarantee page.
Over the life of the system, that is the whole point of doing it. A solar panel makes electricity from the light that reaches the cells, so anything sitting on the glass, whether that is dust, pollen, mineral film, or bird droppings, is light the array never gets to use. Clearing it off lets the system work the way it was designed to, and on equipment you will own for twenty or thirty years, that adds up. What we will not do is put a percentage or a dollar figure on your array before we have seen it. How much any given system gains back depends on how soiled it actually was, the season, the weather, shading, and the equipment itself, and anyone quoting you a number without looking at your roof is guessing. We show you what came off the panels and photograph the before and after, so you can see the difference for yourself.
Find out what is actually on your panels.
Book the free four-step Solar Protection Assessment. We inspect, photograph, and grade the array, and the price comes after, with same-week availability across Santa Clarita and the surrounding valleys.
