Solar panel cleaning across the San Fernando Valley.
Over the hill and across the west Valley: mature neighborhoods, heavy tree cover, and some of the largest window elevations we work on.
Working in the San Fernando Valley
What conditions are like here.
The San Fernando Valley is a different maintenance picture from Santa Clarita, and the difference is mostly vegetation. Where our home valley is dry and open, much of the west and south Valley sits under a mature tree canopy planted decades ago. That canopy is wonderful to live under and hard on gutters, roofs, and solar arrays.
Tree cover means gutters fill reliably and heavily every season, and it means panels collect leaf litter and sap alongside ordinary dust. Sap in particular does not rinse off. It needs physical removal with a soft brush, and left through a summer it bakes into a film that shades cells outright.
The Valley also runs hot. Summer highs in Woodland Hills and Canoga Park regularly top anything Santa Clarita sees, which bakes mineral deposits onto glass faster and makes the timing of a cleaning matter more than homeowners expect.
Local conditions
- Mature tree canopy
- A heavy seasonal leaf load, so most properties need gutters cleared twice a year.
- Sap on panels
- Does not rinse off; needs soft-brush removal before it bakes on and shades cells.
- Extreme summer heat
- The Valley floor bakes mineral deposits onto glass faster than cooler areas.

“I recently called Aurix Luxury Services to clean my solar panels after the rain and I’m honestly impressed. The before and after difference was huge, they went from dusty and dull to looking brand new. You can actually see the shine and reflection again. They showed up on time, were easy to work with, and did a really solid job. Definitely recommend them if your panels need a good cleaning!”

FAQ
Common questions.
With purified water and a soft brush, and nothing else. The reason purified water matters is that it carries no dissolved minerals, so it dries without leaving the spotting that ordinary tap water leaves behind. Where an array can be reached safely from the ground we work from the ground, which is better for your landscaping and safer for our crew. Where it cannot, our technicians are trained and insured for roof work.
It is what happens before anyone quotes you a price. We work through four steps on the roof, in the same order every time, covering the system itself, the contamination on it, the bird activity under it, and the written report at the end. It usually takes twenty to thirty minutes on a residential array, it costs nothing, and you are under no obligation afterward. The result is photographs, a Solar Care Grade, your options, and a final project price. It is a visual assessment, not an electrical, roofing, wildlife, or engineering inspection.
A simple A-to-F description of the condition your array is in when we arrive, so the recommendation is not just our word against your eyes. Grade A is clean and protected; B is light contamination; C means cleaning is recommended; D means heavy contamination or bird activity; F means severe buildup, nesting, or that protection is strongly recommended. It grades what we can see on and around the panels. It is not a performance, electrical, production, or system-health grade.
Because the space under a panel is one of the few genuinely sheltered spots on a house that nothing ever disturbs. Pigeons are the usual occupants in our area, and they return to a site that has worked before, which is why the problem tends to come back rather than pass. The other reason we get asked this is timing: homeowners almost always notice in spring, when a site that was occupied quietly all winter suddenly gets noisy.
